Summer School

Each year the Faculty of Biological Sciences hosts a summer school for year 12 students who are interested in exploring biological sciences at the next level and finding out where it can lead.

Student Ambassador talks

Our specially trained undergraduate students will talk about their journeys and inspire school pupils to progress in STEM at GCSE, BTEC, A Level and beyond!

Leeds Futures: STEM

We’re excited to launch our new online STEM programme for Year 12 students. Designed to help you develop your insight into the various courses and what it’s like to study at a Russell Group University, the programme will also help you develop your skills and subject knowledge, giving you the opportunity to take part in talks, workshops and other enrichment activities alongside your current studies.

A-Level Practical Assessment Days

Students will experience university labs and get the chance to learn from our Faculty of Biological Sciences academics. The practicals are designed to support the A-Level syllabus.

Medicine Not Just about Medics

The subject of Medicine interests many students, however they won’t all become doctors. Teams of scientists, engineers and mathematicians work alongside medical doctors, helping them to understand the spread of disease, discover better treatments and cures, and develop technology to aid more accurate diagnosis and treatment.
