Analysis & spectroscopy workshop

Date
Date
Wednesday 3 December 2014

In this workshop, Y12-13 students work in groups to identify a common painkiller using melting point, thin layer chromatography and infrared (IR) spectroscopy. This is followed by a detailed analysis of the IR and NMR spectra. A more extensive version of the workshop includes the opportunity to see high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and mass spectrometry (MS) in action and obtain spectra of their unknown (only available at certain times of the year).

*Please note this workshop is now fully booked*

This workshop is also being held on February 11th – check the events calendar for further details
