Discovering Geography with GIS

This computer-based practical session will introduce students to the ever-growing world of Geographical Information Systems (GIS). The activity has been designed to integrate GIS technology with popular geography topics. Students will have the opportunity to use free, web-based GIS software to map real-time earthquake events and explore and visualise world development data, such as life expectancy, infant mortality and Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Students should be studying geography or a related subject.
