Aeroplanes - The Next Generation

Aircraft need to be as energy efficient as possible and one way to do this is to use strong yet light materials e.g. composites. In this workshop, students will carry out an activity where they build a simple composite material and measure how much stronger it is by applying a simple test. Students will then be shown how the use of these materials significantly impact fuel consumption and emissions.
