Enhanced Tour with Activity
For key stage 3 & 4 (max 30 students)
From September 2021 you are invited to bring your class to visit University of Leeds to discover new skills and learn about a career as an Engineer. Led by post graduate engineers, students will receive a tour of Engineering, explore engineering careers and take part in a practical activity of your choice.
When booking please select one of the following practical activities;
- Design & Make (Mechanical Engineering) - This session will be based around food air drops for disaster relief and involve creating a package model (using materials supplied) which can be dropped with an egg and land safely on the ground. The model will be scored on design, accuracy and safety of delivery.
- Design & Build (Civil Engineering) - Students will work in teams to construct their design using Lego with consideration of the construction drawings and their individual designs. Finally students will have to adapt to changing plans as a group and under time pressures.
Lunch is optional. We advise that you bring packed lunches and spaces for lunch can be booked on request from 12- 1pm.
