The Power of STEM – making a difference in the world
Interested in STEM subjects at University? Wonder about some of the challenges new graduate researchers are working on?
Young researchers at four University of Leeds Doctoral Training Centres invite you to participate in a short series of online interactive workshops that will take place during early evening sessions (4:30 pm-5:45 pm). Find out about their journeys, the area of STEM they are now working in, and some of their current research.
When will the next set sessions take place?
The next set of sessions will take place in November 2021
|Thursday 4 November 2021||Fantastic fluids and where to find them|
|Wednesday 10 November 2021||Tissue engineering and regenerative medicine: How to build a human|
|Wednesday 17 November 2021||Saving lives With AI|
|Thursday 25 November 2021||Decarbonising heavy duty transport: The use of advanced biofuels|
Who are the sessions for?
Year 12 students studying at least one STEM subject at A level (Year 11 students considering studying STEM subjects at A level, and Year 13 students studying STEM subjects at A level are also welcome to apply for places).
When you apply you will be asked to select which session(s) you would like to attend – we would expect you to choose at least two sessions, but would love it if you could come to all four.
Places will be limited, and priority will be given to students who fulfil our Access to Leeds criteria.
